Earth Salon: Regenerative Farming & Landscaping

The Earth Salon, an initiative of Shambhala Touching the Earth Collective, presents

Regenerative Farming & Landscaping

with Jan Enthoven

Sunday, December 10th, 2023  Noon – 1:30 pm ADT

(5 – 6:30 pm CET)

 Free

Jan Enthoven descends from a long line of Dutch fruit and vegetable growers. Passionate about the natural world, Mr. Enthoven visited Buddhist farmer-philosopher, Masanobu Fukuoka (author of The One Straw Revolution) during his travels through Asia in 1982.  Inspired by Mr. Fukuoka’s approach, Jan implemented ecological farming methods on his 5-acre farm in the Netherlands and became organically certified in 1983.

Drawn to the Shambhala teachings of Chögyam Trungpa, Jan visited Karmê Chöling in Barnet, Vermont, in 1988. He became Karmê Chöling’s master gardener soon thereafter. Since that time, Karmê Chöling’s organic garden has drawn thousands of visitors, and Jan has mentored many garden enthusiasts.

He is currently looking for a successor to build onto his legacy.
