The Earth Salon an initiative of Shambhala Touching the Earth Collective presents
This is an opportunity to learn about the practicalities and profundity of chicken-keeping and how it can enrich our lives as a daily practice of political resistance, community resilience, personal responsibility, and relating to the reality of death—all with love and humour. Nyima Wimberly is a Halifax-based filmmaker and second-generation Shambhala Buddhist with a passion for exploring our shared connection to the natural world. His many projects within the worlds of politics and activism include supporting the growth of small-scale chicken-keeping through advocacy and education. In 2012 he began raising chickens, a hobby and hands-on practice in sustainable living which quickly grew is scope to include regular free chicken-keeping workshop, which he continues to teach to this day.
