It’s all too easy to get caught up in the pressures and commitments of daily life and be oblivious to the world around us.  We can, however, learn to change our orientation, and pay more attention to the wonders of the natural world.  This can soften us, open us, help us become more aware of the needs of others and of our interdependence with plants, animals, and other people.
No matter where we live, birds are all around us.  If we pay attention, we can see and hear them outside our homes, in parking lots, at the beach, along a hiking trails.  By becoming curious about birds we see and hear, we can start to experience the interconnectedness of birds, animals, plants, and humans, and develop a deep appreciation for the natural world and importance of biodiversity.  We can also experience true magic in our encounters with birds and other beings.
